Jon Roberts, President
Jon Roberts is the owner of Re-Create Companies. I have been in the hardscaping industry for 14 years, and this will be my 5th year on ICPI’s Board of Directors. I wanted to become a member of the board so I could bring more awareness to the paver industry through networking and educational opportunities. I am also an active member of the Mason Contractors Association of America, Arizona Masonry Contractors Association, and the Arizona Masonry Guild. I enjoy being a part of the ICPI because it allows me to network with my fellow peers and it offers various educational opportunities that will in return help advance my career and business.
Mike Hare, Treasurer
Mike Hare is the Business Development Leader at Marvel Building & Masonry Supply. I joined Border Construction Specialties and Marvel Masonry on June 15th, 1999. I have 21 years of experience in this industry. I wanted to become part of the ICPI Board of Directors to be an advocate while participating in helping to build the future of our industry. I feel that it is something that I am passionate about while serving on the board for the past 3 years.
Rex Mann, Director
Rex Mann works for European Pavers Southwest INC, as an Operations Manager. I have been in the Hardscapes industry for 26 years. I have been an active ICPI Southwest Chapter Board Member since 2012. I was also a small contractor owner at one time. It helps me to bring insight and perspective from other small business owners, in order for them to voice their concerns. I enjoy getting to know the other members personally during the meetings and events. I feel that being part of the ICPI Southwest Chapter helps me network while staying abreast of the industry’s trends and issues.
John Traynor, Director
John Traynor is the owner of Stone Creations. I have been in the hardscape industry in Arizona for the last 25 years. I spent 5 years on the manufacturing side before moving to the installation side of the business. The best part of being involved in the ICPI Southwest Chapter is the great exchange of ideas and experiences from people in all areas of the industry. There are some great people and great companies involved in ICPI Southwest Chapter and it gives us the platform to raise our industry to a more professional level.
Bruce Basehore, Director
Bruce Basehore works for Techniseal and has been on the ICPI Board of Directors for 3 years.
Steve Biernacki, Director
Steve Biernacki is the owner of Urban Earth Landscaping. He has been in this industry for 24 years. This is my 6th year on the ICPI Southwest Chapter Board of Directors. I believe that being a member of the ICPI Southwest Chapter Board provides me with unique access to industry leaders while affording me the ability to network and to work effectively with a team of professionals towards a common goal. It also gives me the opportunity to give back by helping to increase public awareness of the correct way to install pavers.
Bill Wilson, Director
Bill Wilson has been with Monterrey Tile co. for the past 18 years. Prior to joining Monterrey Tile, I owned my own Landscape and Hardscape company in Arizona doing both residential and commercial projects for 28 years, we also did work in Wisconsin, New York, Washington state, and northern California. For the past 46 years I have been actively involved in both concrete paver and stone paver installations of all sizes shapes and styles. This will be my 3rd year serving on the ICPI board and look forward to working with a wide range of knowledgeable men and women that are involved with this organization. In my spare time, I work with young ladies coaching fastpitch softball at the school and club level.
Chris Wentland, Director
Chris Wentland is the owner of CYC Landscaping. I have been in the industry for 18 years, and this will be my 4th year on the board. My hope is that we will be able to educate homeowners on the proper way to install pavers and why following ICPI guidelines will provide them with a better and longer-lasting product.
I believe that there is a need to help educate homeowners on the proper ways to install pavers. As we help to educate them on ICPI guidelines, this will in return will help the homeowner understand the installation process, so they can have a beautiful and lasting paver project.
David Bell, Director
David Bell is the owner of A&E Advant-Edge Decorative Curbing & Landscaping. He have been in the industry for 15 years, and this will be his 3RD year as an ICPI Board member. I hope to educate other contractors on following ICP guidelines, as well a help to educate homeowners as well. ICPI Southwest Chapter is a great way to network within the industry, and I look forward to helping and seeing our industry thrive for the future.
Todd Steward, Director
Todd Steward is a Hardscape Representative for Marvel Building and Masonry Supply. This will be my 4TH year on the ICPI Board of Directors. I have been in the industry for 20 years and have worked in both the manufacturing and distribution sides of the business. I look forward to working with my peers in order to continue to develop proper construction methods, help satisfies the need for formal training and raise the level of professionalism in our industry.
Mary Jo Mann, Director
Mary Jo Mann works for SEK-Surebond. I have been in the industry for 22 years. This is my 2ND year on the board. I want to help educate more individuals about the best practices for segmental concrete pavement systems. I also volunteer with: JDRF St Vincent and St Paul St Rose Youth Group. What I like best about being a board member is helping promote and be involved in education events, networking events. I want to help businesses be more successful through the knowledge they gain from the ICPI Southwest Chapter.
Wade Taylor, Director
Wade Taylor is the Key Account Manager at SiteOne Landscape Supply, for the past 18 years. This will be my 3RD year on the ICPI Board of Directors. I have been in the landscape industry here in Arizona for the past 18 years. I look forward to doing my part in advancing ICPI as a professional organization and promoting the importance of high industry standards in hardscapes through education. My hope is to add value and experience and increase membership to ICPI-AZ
Chris Hamel, Director
Chris Hamel works for Telluride Natural Stone & Reclaimed Wood. I have 28 years in the landscape/hardscape industry. I would like to continue being a leader in the industry and help others become educated and recognized in our industry as well. Knowledge is power. I am also, an Arizona Landscape Contractor Association member(ALCA). I enjoy being in a position to help others with their craft. There is always something to be learned every day. I think as a board, and as a team of experts, including our member base, we can educate and lend our expertise to the industry. As board members, we have a common bond with our members, and that’s to be the best at what we do. We are here for them, and the industry as a whole. Our awards banquet is the pinnacle event of the year. Members get the chance to show off their projects, their companies, and their employees. That is a proud moment for them and us as well because they’re our members. We’d like to think we helped them get there, through our relationships and dedication.
Bill Schlis, Director
Bill Schlis is the Director of Hardscape Field Operations at California Pools and Landscape. I have been in the industry for 16 years. I have done commercial, residential, remodel, and model home projects throughout the state. This will be my 1ST year on the board. I wanted to become a board member to promote proper installation techniques and to help in the progression of our industry. I am excited to work with my peers on training, growth, and networking in the hardscape industry. I also look forward to educating homeowners and contractors on proper methods for installation and care of pavers and hardscape. ICPI SW sets the standards for the industry and is a great resource for contractors and homeowners alike. I am glad to be a part of such a great organization.
Matt Montgomery, Director
Matt Montgomery works for Keystone Hardscapes. I have been in the industry for 4 years. This is my first year on the ICPI Board of Directors; however, I also participate in the Arizona Masonry Council. I enjoy watching the growth of the industry. I want to be part of the team that helps push and grow the ICPI in the Southwest Chapter.
James Stevens, Director
James Stevens works for Acker-Stone Ind. I have been in the industry for 17 years in various positions of manufacturing and sales. This will be my 1st year on the board. I wanted to become a board member to positively affect change and support initiatives in our industry along with helping to support and shape the future of the organization.
I am looking forward to working with industry professionals on this board to help broaden my industry exposure, further my knowledge base and grow my professional network by surrounding myself with influential people with different backgrounds and insights. I am confident my abilities and experience are a perfect match to support my colleagues in the hardscape industry.
